Introduction to Open Data Kit (ODK)

ODK ( is a free and open-source set of tools to create, deploy and manage mobile electronic data collection and information services. Organizations from around the world use ODK to, for example, collect data from field surveys and provide mobile decision support systems. This workshop will cover the foundations of how to develop such applications. No prior experience is required.

This workshop is being offered as a follow-up to the 2014 Mobile Conference. It is the first in a series focusing on mobile phone applications to global health and development and has been steered by Prof. Joseph G. Bock as part of his course "Topics in Global Health: Global Health, Mobile Phones and Appropriate Technologies" (BIOS 60204 - Section 01; CRN 30432). A workshop on Crowdmap and FrontlineSMS will be offered on March 20 and 27. These workshops are open to anyone who is interested in using these platforms.
